Acupuncture is a system of healing which has been used in china for thousands of years. Although, often described as a form of pain relief it can be used for a variety of illnesses. Its focus is on the patient as a whole rather than treating isolated symptoms.

According to Chinese medicine, symptoms develop due to an imbalance in the body’s energy; this is known as Qi (pronounced chee). Many things in life influence our Qi causing it to become blocked or depleted. Common causes are anxiety, stress, injury, poor diet and emotional disharmony.

Through the insertion of fine needles in to specific points on the channels of the body acupuncture aims to address the imbalance of the patient’s energy to restore health and well being.
